Teachers definitely don’t get the credit they deserve. A lot of companies agree with this understatement, and offer awesome discounts, targeted just for teachers and educators! Every May, teachers get an entire week of love during Teacher Appreciation Week – and there will be lots of additional discounts at that time, too. Stay tuned to Freebie Shark for details on those! But where can teachers find discounts the rest of the year? If you are in the educational field, be sure you sign up at ID.me to verify your teacher status. Here are some of Sharky’s favorite places to find teacher discounts:
- Book Stores: Barnes & Noble has the B&N Educator Program with 20% off + more. Book Warehouse offers 15% off for the Educators’ Book Club. Score 10% off at Half Price Books, and 20% off at Books-a-Million and Bookmans! Don’t forget the Scholastic Teacher Store with discounts up to 75% off!
- Travel: Teachers Travel Web is a cool worldwide B&B or home exchange for members. Score discounts on cruises from Vacations to Go. The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotel offer teacher or educator discounts. The National Park Service will give you 15% off with a valid school ID.
- Restaurants: Most of these will come up during Teacher Appreciation Week. Depending on the store, Pizza Hut & Schlotzky’s offer 10%-20% off with school ID every day.
- Entertainment: Las Vegas Caesars offers discounts if you register online. Dollywood will give you a free season pass for every 15 paid admissions + free pass for bus driver. Medieval Times, Graceland, Perot Museum, and Six Flags all offer discounts for groups or free educational material. And the MLB loves teachers – giving exclusive access to Salute to Service tickets for some games.
- Insurance: Liberty Mutual, Geico, Horace Mann, and Farmers Group all offer educator discounts.

- Office Depot: MaxRewards offers exclusive teacher discounts throughout the year
