How to Find Yard Sales, Garage Sales & Estate Sales

Second hand shopping is so much fun! Not only are you finding great bargains, you can score some pretty unique items, too! One man’s junk is another man’s treasure, right? Yard sales, garage sales, and estate sales can be a fun treasure hunt! But how can you find them in your area, besides hunting down those brightly colored signs on the corner of the street? Here you go! Enjoy some fun summer yard-saling this season!

Quick tips:

If an email option is available – sign up! This way they will alert YOU, before you have to search!
Plan your route BEFORE heading out. It’ll save you frustration and time! Don’t forget that most garage sales run from early morning until dark, however, you’ll want to check the times for each individual sale to be sure.
Show up early for the best selection… show up late for the best deals! Obviously, the early bird gets the worm. And estate sales are notorious for marking the entire sale down by 50% off or more during the last Sunday of the sale.
If you’re planning to score collectibles, fragile items, furniture, mirrors…. make sure your car or truck is prepared and ready for them! Bring packing supplies to protect your finds!
If you’re a hustler, you can always compare the yard sale price by the price on eBay to see if it’s a good deal.
If a child is hosting a lemonade stand or selling their own items – help them out. That’s good karma right there!
Offer a bundle price if you’re purchasing more than one item. The seller may just give it to you!
