Pre-Prime Day Offers & Deals

As with other years, in the lead-up to Prime Day official, Amazon starts scattering bargains, deals and special savings around the site, just for Prime members.  It’s like a little taste test for the newbies, and a “thank you” for the OG Primers. Plus, early Prime Day deals are being released daily – Shop early Prime Day.  As always, the “holiday” never falls on just holiday – the fun and savings are extended!  This year, look for Prime Savings! I’ve been spotting this on snacks, electronics, home goods, household essentials, and more.  Plus, Amazon services and Amazon devices are marked WAY down, with special offers just for Prime members!

Invite-Only Deals

Last year, Amazon rolled out a new invite-only deals program. Prime members can sign up for the opportunity to get exclusive access to Prime Day 2024’s best deals on big-name brands and Amazon-exclusive deals on other brands. The new invite-only deals will happen every 30 minutes throughout both days. Expect quick sell-outs on these deals, should you opt-in.

For example, last year, a very limited number of Prime members scored a huge 75% off Amazon Fire TV 43″ Omni Series, and 55% off JBL Live 660NC Nose Cancelling Headphones.

Here’s how invites work:

  1. Request an invitation. Prime members get exclusive access to invite-only deals.
  2. Check your email. Check for email invites on Prime Day.
  3. Buy if invited. On Prime Day, you’ll get an email notification with a unique link that’s valid throughout the Prime Day event.

BIG Discounts on Amazon Brands & Technology

In years past, I saw incredible deals on Amazon brands – from food and pantry to electronics. That’s become a staple of Prime Day (and why not? It’s Amazon’s day!) so I definitely expect to see those savings again this year. For example, watch for deals on Kindles, Fire TV Sticks,  Echos, and other Amazon branded tech. The previous year models could even give us deals better than Black Friday! Keep your eyes on wireless headphones, smart watches, laptops, and TVs this year.

I’m also anticipating more deals on Amazon branded clothing and household items. With the increase in stock and promotion for Amazon apparel, I’m excited to see where they take that this year!

Last year, you could get up to 35% off Amazon brand household essentials and food. This year, I’m seeing pre-Prime Day sales of up to 50% off!

Giftables & Celebrity-Owned Companies

As you know, I plan ahead. If you’re following the Summer Savings Plan – (Save for Christmas Now), you may even start using that savings early to score BIG! I’m expecting some serious holiday shopping opportunities. That means gifts galore!

Watch for deals on celebrity-owned companies. These are HOT with the increase in Tiktok promotions and “Tiktok made me buy it” videos. Cosmetics, clothing, home decor, baking & cooking items – keep your eye on your favorite famous brands. Plus, other popular home items that we see during Prime Day sales are InstantPot, Keurigs, Roombas and other big name small home electronics and appliances. 2023 showed us a HUGE increase in beauty product Prime Day deals – I’m watching for the same to happen this year, especially since influencers are such great advertising tools.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are always a big seller, and on Prime Day, that’s no exception! In fact, the gift card deals are HOT HOT HOT during this annual sale. Last year, I saw Prime members score a $5 credit when they spent $25 in Amazon gift cards! I hope to see that again this year.

Another HOT deal from last year was the 20% off gift cards promo!  Notable in that promo were the 20% off iTunes (use that to pay for Hulu!!), and 20% off Fandango and Cinemark. It’s a great time to score gift cards at some of the cheapest prices all year.

Back to School

Prime Day also kicks off the early unofficial Back to School season. It’s a great way to grab backpacks, lunch totes & Bento Boxes, kids’ clothing & more at a great discount. Plus, the tech deals are always great for back to school, too.

Remember – just because it’s on sale doesn’t mean it’s a great deal. Be smart about your purchases, and remember to stay within a strict budget. You’ll have more opportunities to grab the items you want with Christmas in July sales, if you don’t see them on sale during Prime Day, or the prices aren’t within your budget. I’ll be posting my favorites for you! I ‘m excited for Prime Day this year – I hope you are, too!
