Tips for Shopping Amazon Prime Day Sales

Amazon Prime Day is July 12-13 this year, and we are READY! Some early Amazon Prime Day deals have been released, and that’s just a sampling of the savings we are going to see. Here are some tips to getting the most out of Amazon Prime Day Sales:

• Download the App – if you haven’t already, grab the Amazon app!  Click on the Prime Day banner, and it will take you to a page full of discounts, coupons, deals, and even upcoming deals.  You’ll be able to create alerts for items in your browsing history, too – this means you’ll get  notifications when the items you need & want are on sale during Prime Day! Even better, you may qualify for a $5 Amazon Credit with your first app purchase!
• Make a Wishlist – Creating a wishlist prior to the sale can help you reduce impulse shopping. This is an awesome time to consider holiday shopping plans, as well. Just click “Add to List” under “Buy Now”  on each product. When Prime Day hits, go to your settings, then “Your List” to see which of those items are on sale.
• Get Prime – Obviously, you’ll want to score Prime membership, OR get the free trial prior to Amazon Prime Day.
• Watch for Bundles – We anticipate the trend of electronic and tech bundles to continue this year, as with past years. These may include things like smart plugs with smart devices or home security bundles. These bundles are a great way to save money!
• No Rush Shipping – Some deals may offer a great perk for extended shipping. If you don’t need your package in 2 days, choose No Rush Shipping and you’ll score a $1.50 Amazon credit to your account, just for being patient!
• Prime Flags – As you shop, you’ll see blue flags by the prices that say “Prime Savings” – these are items that are either exclusive to Prime members, OR discounts especially for Prime members. Watch these flags for the best deals.
• FREE Amazon Credits – When you click on the Prime Day banners online or in the app, the Prime Day hub will pop up. In there, you’ll find ways to earn credit to your Amazon account. Right now, you can score $10 when you collect “stamps” by doing simple tasks. Unlock $60 by browsing and completing actions. Earn $10 for buying a Lightyear movie ticket AND merchandise, or $5 when you do one of those.
• Shop Amazon Tech – Some of the lowest deals of the year on Amazon tech (Audible, Kindle, Alexa, etc.) are on sale during Amazon Prime Day. The next time these will hit rock bottom pricing is Black Friday.
• Ask Alexa – Based on previous years, you should be able to ask Alexa “Alexa, what are my Prime Day deals?” and be offered the deals prior to (about 2 days) the official launch of those deals!
• Watch FreebieShark – We will be pinning a roundup post of the best Amazon Prime Day deals to the top of FreebieShark, so you can access them quicker & easier! This list will be updated throughout the entire 2 days of Prime Day sales.
