Walmart just announced that they’ll be closing on Thanksgiving Day this year for the first time in more than 30 years! Note that they still plan on having Black Friday deals the next day. I think this is a great move by Walmart, as it gives their employees an opportunity to stay at home and enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with their loved ones. In my opinion, the fun and magic of Black Friday got ruined in a way when retailers started hosting Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving day — so I am hoping more retailers follow suit with this and decide to close on Thanksgiving as well. I expect to see a lot more online Black Friday deals this year due to the pandemic.
