Target’s coupon policy says that we can use both one manufacturer and one store coupon on a single item. So I recommend checking Target’s coupon page to see if there are any store coupons available on the item you are eyeing. Two coupons is better than one!
Download Cartwheel on your phone and save big.
Target’s Cartwheel app is mentioned a lot here on FreebieShark. That’s because it always us to save even more…even if we already have a manufacturer’s coupon and a store coupon. Add any offer you are interested to your barcode and present your barcode at checkout to get your Cartwheel discount! Be sure to check your Cartwheel app daily since new offers are always being added. And of course, I am always highlighting the good ones right here on FreebieShark to save you time!
Use rebate-app offers to maximize your savings.
Rebate-apps, such as Ibotta, allow you to scan your receipt to get cash back on your qualifying purchases. They don’t mind if you are already using coupons or Cartwheel offers when purchasing the product. That means these rebate-apps offer you even more savings.
Save 5% on everything in-store and online with a REDcard.
If you are doing most of your shopping at Target, you’ll want to take advantage of the REDcard. You get anadditional 5% off anything that can be stacked with sales, promotions, Cartwheel offers, coupons, and clearance. If you don’t like credit cards, they also offer a REDcard debit card that offers the same perks. Plus, REDcard holders get FREE shipping on Target.com and other perks like FREE popcorn! 🙂
Get mobile coupons via text or through the Target app.
Target releases weekly mobile coupons via text or on the Target app. Featured on their weekly ad each week is a new mobile coupon to take advantage of. For example, they frequently run a $5 off $15 Personal Care purchase mobile coupon. When that’s live, their weekly ad has the coupon for it, or you can text whatever the “keyword” is that week (ex: text CARE to 82748 when active). Mobile coupons can also be accessed through the Target app.
Pay attention to seasonal clearance.
Clearance after any holiday usually starts the day after the holiday. Candy starts at 30% off and all other merchandise goes for 50% off. However, if you wait just a few days, the candy jumps to 50% off and the merchandise jumps to 70% off. If we really want to wait another few days, their final clearance adjustments go to 70% off candy and 90% off merchandise. Just cross your fingers that they still have some good stuff left!
The “2 for $6” deals are just a marketing trick..you only need to purchase one for the sale price.
Target frequently runs sales on items where they offer “2 for $6” or “3 for $8”. Keep in mind that this is just a clever marketing trick for them to get you to buy additional products. You can still get the sale price if you buy just one.
See when a sale ends buy looking at the sale tag.
Pay special attention to a sale tag when browsing Target. On the bottom left corner, you’ll see a new numbers in boxes that will reveal when the sale ends. For example, if you see a “7/09” date on the bottom left corner, that reveals to you that the sale is going on until July 9th.
Bring a reusable bag and get an additional $.05 off.
Not only will you be helping the environment by cutting down on plastic bag waste, Target will offer you $.05 off your total when you bring a reusable bag. Pretty cool!

Target.com’s free shipping minimum is only $25, while other sites like Amazon is $49. If you want to order a few items and don’t want to pay shipping charges, you’ll definitely want to consider Target.com. Even better, during the holiday season, Target offers FREE shipping on ANY order. I love that!

During the holiday season, Target offers high value 50% off toys Cartwheel offers each day….and trust me, they help you save an incredible amount during the holidays. Then, after the holiday season is over, Target has a huge toy clearance sale in the beginning of the new year!
Target beauty boxes are exclusive to Target.com and go live at the beginning of each month.
Target runs a month beauty box program on Target.com. No subscription is required…you can purchase any box you are interested in and pass up on ones that you don’t think you’ll use. Be sure to check Target.com’s Beauty Box page at the beginning of every month to find out what is being offered each month. They generally release two boxes at a time, but sometimes, they only offer one.
Is your sale item out of stock? Don’t forget to get a rain check.
If you go to Target to take advantage of a sweet deal, then get suddenly disappointed when you realize that someone cleared the shelves….don’t worry. You can always get a rain check. Just head to customer service and they can issue you a rain check for the sale price, which will be valid for the next 45 days. Keep in mind that NOT all locations offer rain checks, so it is a good idea to ask your Target location the next time you are there.
Target gift card promotions are amazing. Take advantage of them.
Target is constantly offering us amazing gift card promotions. For example, let’s say you want to buy toothpaste, but the tag says “Buy 3 Get a FREE $5 Gift Card”. Use all your coupons and Cartwheels to get huge savings, and you’ll get the $5 gift card at checkout. These gift card promos frequently lead to freebies. I absolutely love their gift card promotions…one of my favorite things about Target!
