Target Must Pay $4 Million Fine for Overcharging Customers

Target LogoOuch! Target has agreed to pay nearly $4 million dollars in fines for overcharging customers! This is mainly due to expired promotional price tags that were still listed on the shelf, but never removed. This lead to people thinking they were paying a sale price, but were paying full price due to the sale price tag no longer being valid. Target is apparently fixing the problem and sale price tags will be removed immediately after the sale is over, but it’s always a good idea to double check your receipts. Target is not the only store to get in trouble for this. In the last year, CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart all paid fines for the same ‘scanner error’ issues. Watch this video for more information. (Thanks, Rita!)

If this ever happens to you, make sure to bring it to the attention of the cashier. So my question to you is, have you ever experienced stores overcharging you at the register?
